The authors consider the peculiarities of Russia's economic modernization in conditions of the global financial and economic crisis in terms of two trends in crisis evolution: the accumulation of contradictory processes, inherent in cyclical development of social production and rapidly gaining strength progressive socioeconomic processes adequate to the new stages of technological revolution. The article analyses the trends contributing to the modernization of Russia's economy subject to innovation processes and constraints to the development of objective and subjective reasons.
